The Kaka is a large, forest dwelling Parrot which gathers in flocks in the morning and evening to socialise.
Their funny antics and raucous voice led Maori to refer to them as chattering and gossiping.
Kaka have brown/green feathers with brilliant flashes of orange and scarlet under thier wings.
